Pumpkin Patch & Catching Up!

Hello Friends!! I’m sure you’ve noticed that as I get closer and closer to my due date, my presence here is slowly getting more spaced out. I have absolutely no intentions of abandoning my fun little corner of the blogosphere, I’m just becoming more focused on the present and spending quality time with my big girl before my little girl breaks up the party. :-) You can continue to expect 2-3 posts weekly instead of the daily posts that I used to do. You can also always catch me on Instagram – I find it far easier to keep you all in the loop on my daily chaos over there! In the coming month I’ll be introducing you to some amazing bloggers who have so graciously volunteered to be contributors. They are quite literally a few of my favorite bloggers, and they write some of the only blogs that I manage to keep up with on a daily basis anymore. Ok, enough shop talk, lets look at pictures of my cute kid, shall we..and maybe a few bumps?! Oh, and my husband (who just finished a lemon-lime sno-cone and has a sickly looking tongue. Mine was dragons blood flavor…what flavor is that even?!) pumpkin patch 3 pumpkin patch pumpkin patch2 pumpkin patch4

This last picture kills me!! She saw a teeny tiny dragon fly land next to her and she freaked out, and threw her pumpkin at it. I’ve ruined this child with my fear of spiders and creepy crawlers. Camryn is wearing her Cray Cray tee from Little Big Dreamers, skinny jeans from good ol’ Target, and Hunter wellies.

I went in on Friday & again yesterday for baby appointments and everything with little miss Harper is great! Other than the fact that I’m still getting sick on an almost daily basis, my pregnancy is progressing as it should. She currently weighs 3 pounds 15 oz. and is measuring at 32 weeks today (a few days behind my actual date), but her legs are measuring over 2 weeks ahead! I grow babies with long legs, chunky cheeks, and no hair! Ha! I had lost about 5 pounds, but gained all 5 back in the last week, so that’s a really good sign. The new nausea med I’m taking has been really helping reduce how often I’m getting sick. HOORAY!! Just 7 more weeks, or less.

Yesterday I took Camryn to the park to enjoy the amazing weather we’ve been having here in Austin, and we picnicked and played for awhile.

She is lucky enough to get to be a brand rep for our sweet friend (and blog sponsor) Jayme, who owns Kate & James! She’s wearing her Ello Love Pullover, Susie’s custom shorts, and Freshly Picked Moccs. I’m so jealous of her wardrobe, it hurts. ;-)

Hope you’ve all been having a great week! Come visit me on IG today and enter the awesome loop giveaway I’m in! $25 Paypal cash is up for grabs!!

Second Trimester Pregnancy Update

25 weeks 4

25 weeks 2

25 weeks

25 weeks 3

25 weeks 5

It’s hard to believe I’m already in my 25th week of pregnancy, and just 15 weeks (or less) away from meeting this tiny lady! This has felt equally like the longest pregnancy, and the fastest pregnancy ever. When I think of all the things still lingering on my to-do list, I become overwhelmed with anxiety. When I think of all the hours spent nauseous and hanging over my toilets, sinks, and drowning myself in ginger ale, I wonder “how have I survived this infinite pregnancy?”

If you’re wondering what I’ve done to prepare, the answer is nothing. I haven’t bought diapers. I haven’t assembled (or purchased) the crib. The dresser/changing table still lives in Camryn’s room. The storage containers full of baby clothes that I’ve saved for the last 3 years are stacked to the ceiling and in need of being washed and hung. Thank god I am OCD and was smart enough to organize them all by size and season – hallelujah! We don’t have a double stroller (and probably won’t get one because it seems unnecessary for us), a swing, bouncer, activity mat, or even a monitor…although my husband did splurge on the Sproutling. If you’re unfamiliar with this awesome product, check out their video.

To be quite honest, I’m not concerned like I was when I was pregnant with Camryn. I feel like all I need is diapers, nursing pads for my soon-to-be leaky chest, a crib, and a car seat….maybe a few sleeping pills to slip that little night owl….BOOM! Happy baby. I’m kidding people. Don’t drug your kids. Put down your phone, no need to call child protective services. ;-)

Speaking of calling CPS, did y’all see that crazy mom who video taped her son lighting himself on fire?! W-T-F. Don’t even get me started. Ok, moving on before I get all Oprah on you and start telling you how I feel about said crazy mom…

Since I seem to be rambling, lets go ahead and break things down real quick with ten facts about my pregnancy as of now:

1. I can’t stop eating. I crave pasta, cereal, cheeseburgers, and popsicles. By crave I really just mean I like those foods and am using this baby as an excuse to indulge.

2. I tried to put on a pair of non-maternity shorts to wear unbuttoned over my bikini to the pool this weekend, and couldn’t even pull them up past my thighs. I am convinced I am growing Harper’s twin in my a$$.

3. I’ve only made 4 maternity purchases so far, which is probably why I’m constantly complaining that I have nothing to wear. 1 pair of pants, two shorts, and a tee shirt. On the other hand, I’ve bought Camryn 20+ new outfits in the last 6 months despite the fact that she hasn’t grown an inch since I got pregnant. Story. Of. My. Life.

4. I started feeling Harper move around 14 weeks. Taylor first felt her move around 17 weeks, and Camryn felt her around 20. I can now see her moving, and we watch my belly roll around nightly. Harper responds quickly to Camryn talking to her, and loves to kick big sister in the face when Camryn leans her head on my belly.

5. The love and bond my girls already share has made being sick for 6 months 100% worth it. Camryn touches my belly, says “Hi Harper!”, and kisses her at least once a day.

6. I haven’t had any stretch marks yet (I never did with Camryn), but I have gained a solid 16 pounds already. I gained a total of 30-35 with Camryn.

7. I am a walking furnace. Most days I just want to live in the freezer. Summer pregnancy in Texas is not my jam.

8. I havent had a single stranger touch my belly.

9. Harper does not yet have a middle name. We have about 4 names that we’re tossing around, but my husband is “meh” on all of them. Suggestions?

10. At 25 weeks, I still sleep on my belly. It’s only just (in the last week) becoming uncomfortable, and I’m trying to transition to sleeping on my side…I haven’t slept well in days. :-(

Hope I haven’t bored you too much with all this bump talk. I have a beauty review coming your way tomorrow, so if baby talk doesn’t apply to you, hopefully that will.

Pregnancy Update – First Trimester

Ultrasound

It’s true, my eggo is preggo. If you’re new to my little corner of the internet (Hello, welcome all you beautiful new faces!) then this news might be a surprise to you…although I doubt it with all the complaining I’ve done. Sorry ’bout that. Even though I’m now in my 2nd trimester, the joys of first trimester don’t seem to be ending anytime soon. *excuse me while I go throw up…again!*

I mentioned on Tuesday that I had not one, but two OB appointments this week, and I’m happy to report that baby is still onboard and healthy as can be! You’re probably wondering why I had two OB appointments…In a nutshell, my body hates me. I have two autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and sjogren’s. Both are fairly easy to manage, but in pregnancy sjogren’s can cause problems with the baby’s heart, so I get to see a high-risk OB for extra monitoring. Baby is doing great, and his/her heart looks and sounds beautiful at this stage. We’ll do an EKG at 20ish weeks as an additional precaution, but we’re optimistic that all is well. Camryn, my BIG 3 year old *tear*, never had any issues with her heart in utero, if you’re wondering.

We were lucky enough to score some great pictures of baby at my appointment, including the profile view above. We have guesses from one OB about gender, but won’t get confirmation until June 16th. We also got a face view of baby, but it still looks like an alien, so I’ll be sure to share more photos when it gets a little cuter. ;-)

I’ve managed to gain almost 5lbs despite my constant nausea (seriously, wth?) and my belly has officially outgrown my pre-preggo jeans. I’ve been relying on maxi dresses and skirts on the regular, as well as my bella-bands for days that I feel like attempting to still wear my pre-preggo shorts. I’m feeling quite comfortable in my current wardrobe, and will share some of my first trimester fashion with you soon. I’ve been making my husband snap pics of my outfits often, so I’ll share a compilation of those with you soon. I’ve definitely discovered a few must-have items, like these comfy pajamas, everyday maxi dresses, and lots more!

No end in sight for this dreadful nausea, but I’ve been getting to facetime with my very new and adorable nephew lately, and he is a good reminder that it will all be worth it in the end!! For any of you fellow moms-to-be, I did start a B6 regimen of 25mg morning & night, as well as 12.5mg of unisom at bedtime, and it does seem to help. It takes the edge off enough that I’m not throwing up multiple times a day, which is worth mentioning, if you know how awful morning sickness can be.

I hope I answered the questions that many of you have been asking me lately, and feel free to leave any other questions for me in the comments, as well as your gender guesses!

XO – Samantha
