My Weekend in Instagram Pictures

Good morning sleepy heads! I bet you’re wishing you had that extra hour to snooze…I know I do!! ;-)

If you follow me on Instagram, this will look familiar, but for those of you who don’t here’s a glimpse into what my weekend looked like.

weekend1

How darling is that romper? Gap sales never fail me. weekend2

Camryn and I finally started feeling better, and had enough energy to begin painting her room. If you have a toddler, you’ll understand why she has her own mini-roller and paint tray…She has to help me do EVERYTHING. I had to paint while she watched a movie and was entertained, keep the room closed off for hours with windows open and fans on so it could dry and air out, and then finally let her “paint”. She was thrilled! I also ordered the Anthropologie wallpaper for her room, and should have it this week. Woohoo! weekend4

weekend3

My husband takes Camryn out for dates on the weekends, or weeknights if it’s not too late, and has quality daddy-daughter time with her. They grocery shop for me, go out to dinner and ice cream, play at the park, and do fun things just the two of them. It’s my favorite time to relax, put on a face mask, read a magazine while soaking in a bubble bath, and they both come home happy (and tired). Win-win! If you ask Camryn who her favorite is, mom or dad, she always says “Mommy!”, but he’s slowly wearing her down…one frozen yogurt at a time. weekend5

Those pigtails kill me. Some days I just can’t believe I made that cute baby…and that my “baby” is not such a baby anymore.

What did you get up to this weekend?

XO – Samantha

P.S…So many of you have asked what happened to “Camryn Daily”, and here’s the truth…I failed. It was a lot more work than I had anticipated, and life happened. I have decided to change the project from Camryn Daily to Camryn Weekly, and I’ll be updating with her weekly photos within a few days.

Long Weekend

Hello Darlings!

So sorry for the lapse in posts, I treated myself to a much needed long weekend. Here’s what I was up to while I was gone…

lustlist1

lustlist2

Valentines at our house was low-key, but my husband did surprise Camryn and I with flowers. We each got 2 dozen roses (he can’t help himself…despite my dislike of vday) and I split mine into 2 bouquets and used my Alice + Olivia for Starbucks mug as an adorable vase.

lustlist4

We took Auntie coffee because she manages a spa, and Valentines at a spa is a little crazy. Nothing says “I love you” like a latte.

lustlist5

Camryn has been loving her new red moccs too. In fact, I’m struggling to get her to wear any other shoes. lustlist6 Daddy upgraded cars, and Camryn has taken a liking to it. Hey, at least she’s not texting while driving, and she’s wearing her seat belt! Also, how cute are those gladiator sandals? Target strikes again! lustlist10 I go in today to have my hair cut and colored. I’m not the type of person who does a lot with their hair. I get it trimmed “just an inch” and keep it pretty much the same all the time. To say I’m nervous would be an understatement. I’m planning to have it layered more, and the dry ends trimmed, but the big plan is adding a few highlights around my face and ombre-ing the ends. Eek!! (The above photo is my inspiration) I’ll post before and after pics for all of you tomorrow. Wish me luck. :-)

How was everyone’s Valentines, and weekend?

XO – Samantha

P.S. If you don’t get enough of me here, go check out my pinterest. I’ve been a pinning machine lately!

Valentines is Bullshit.

Screen Shot 2014-02-12 at 2.19.57 PM

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, and I just want to take a minute and talk about the most loved, and hated, holiday.

If you’re in a new relationship, you’ve probably been anticipating this holiday since last March, and dreaming about the 2 dozen long stem roses, heart shaped box of chocolates, cuddly teddy bear, and dinner at your favorite restaurant (at 7pm of course, the most popular dining time…hope you booked this in December guys!) You obviously have to compete with your other “taken” girlfriends, because you and your man are the “power couple” of 2014, and today is the day to prove it.

If you’ve been dating for a while, you’re expecting that little blue box, and a bottle of Dom to celebrate. You’ll need your mom, dad, sister, and BFF’s to be there to celebrate with you after he pops the big question, so he’ll need to go ahead and fly them in. Oh, and since Kim Kardashian had a full symphony and an entire stadium when Kanye popped the question, your man better have something equally as amazing planned. If Ryan Gosling could get on one knee and ask for him, that would do the trick.

Married men have to raise the bar every year, so that full day at the spa that he treated you to last year just isn’t going to cut it. New diamond stud earrings, the 2014 Range Rover Sport, and that Prada handbag you’ve been eyeing are sure to be on the short-list. And don’t you dare bring me a new car if it doesn’t have a giant red bow on it, because I can’t instagram a photo of a plain old car.

If you’re single, this day sucks more than you expect your 50th birthday will. You can’t stay home and watch reruns of Sex & The City and kick back tequila shots without your non-single friends thinking you’re suicidal. If you go out with your fellow single ladies, everyone looks at you like you’re a walking cliche. It’s lose-lose. If you’re reading this, you still have time to get on an airplane and fly to mexico…just do it.

Ladies, it’s TOO MUCH!! It’s too much pressure, and too much money being spent on dumb things that should never cost that much. A $20 teddy bear? Why does a grown woman need a teddy bear?! $150 roses. (FYI: They’re $20 every other day of the year.) A heart shaped box of chocolates…and the chocolate is usual gross! We all take one bite out of each just to see if it’s as disgusting as the last. We expect sappy cards that say things that we would NEVER say in real life. For example: “We are two souls sharing a single thought, two hearts sharing a single beat, you are the light of my life!” If a guy says that out loud to you, check for signs of a stroke.

If you’re new to my blog then you’re probably reading all this and thinking “This chick is DEFINITELY single, that’s why she hates Valentines”…I’m not. So lets talk about my husband.

1000833_10201039810613804_1278907451_n My husband and I have been together for nearly 10 years, and we’ve never celebrated Valentines Day…but we do celebrate being in love all day err day! He doesn’t have to prove he loves me one day out of the year, because he shows me in small, thoughtful ways, all year.

He buys me flowers, but not for any “Hallmark holiday”, just because he’s at the grocery store and knows I like fresh flowers in the house.

He makes me breakfast in bed. Ok, that’s a lie…but he DOES let me sleep in on the weekends, and entertains our 2 year old until at least 9:30, at which time he brings her into our room and lets her jump on me until I get my lazy butt up. He’ll usually make me coffee too, so that counts as breakfast.

He’s an amazing dad! He’s never been the “I don’t do diapers” kind of dad. He gets on the floor and plays, cooks Mac & Cheese like Emeril Lagasse (BAM!), and literally races me up the stairs to get Camryn up from naps when we hear her making noises over the monitor. He’s involved. He appreciates his time with her. He is teaching her the way a real man should treat her.

He’s dependable. When he says he’ll fix the garage door, I know I can count on him…to call a repair man. Seriously though, he’s always there when I need him, and he’s never, ever flakey.

He works really hard. He’s planning for our future, and he’s allowing me to be a stay-at-home-mom.

He’s honest. Always. Even if that honesty is saying “Babe, your breath is kickin’!” This is ROMANCE people. :-)

He kills spider. This is an important trait ladies.

He doesn’t complain. When he’s eating healthy and hitting the gym every day, he doesn’t complain when I lay in bed at night eating hot Cheetos and ice cream. I actually thanked him for this last week, because I know if the tables were turned I’d be pissed that he was tempting me, and would absolutely kick him out of the bed.

He’ll let me lead. He gives me full reign when I want it. I’ve decorated, redecorated, and then switched out a few chairs, lamps, and pillows (also called redecorating) in our house about 100 times. He hates it…but he lets me continue with this madness because he knows I love it. He knows when to take a step back and let me do my thing.

He makes me laugh. I usually start laughing because he’s laughing, and his laugh is hysterical. He’s usually laughing because I’ve done something klutzy. This article makes us both laugh until we’re crying.

He’s easy to look at. Ladies, this is another important trait. If you have babies with an ugly person, your babies will also be ugly. (I’m KIDDING!! But for reals, nobody likes an ugly baby. TOTALLY JOKING!!) ;-)

He’s a genuinely nice person. I can’t think of anyone who dislikes my husband. He’s respectful, and kind, and extremely open-minded. He always approaches me with kindness and, even if we disagree about something, he’s careful with his words and is thoughtful in his argument.

This list could go on and on, and some of you might already be considering checking me for signs of a stroke, so I’ll end on this note. He’s not a drunk. He doesn’t do drugs. He doesn’t sleep around. (and 10 years later, he’s still a stud muffin) Happy Valentines to me!

I had no intentions of this post becoming so long and preach-ish, I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow isn’t about what you are gifted, and it shouldn’t be a competition. Tomorrow is Friday (WOOHOO!) and it’s also Valentines day, but it doesn’t have to play out like a fairy tale. Tell the people you love “I love you” and appreciate being told “I love you too” and then do it again the next day, and the day after that, and so on. If you like buying gifts, then go ahead, but don’t allow yourself to feel pressured to have to, or put that pressure on your spouse. Don’t be a valentine-zilla.

For me and the hubs, we’ll spend V-day watching House of Cards. Ohhh yeeaahhhh baaaabbbyyy, it’s back!

XO – Samantha

Hibernating

The indecisive weather here in Austin has forced Camryn and I into hibernation. We’re officially doing nothing that doesn’t involve staying in our jammies all day, snuggling and watching movies, drinking hot cocoa, or playing with toys. I made a “market” which has kept us very entertained. Her imagination runs wild these days, and it’s just so fun to watch her pretend to be a chef serving Mommy lunch, a “farmers market owner” selling me veggies, or my favorite “I’m just Camryn Reese, Mom!” I can’t wait to reuse our market as a lemonade stand this summer, or as a puppet theater when I make a curtain. Daddy’s favorite use is a kissing booth where he can buy smooches for a quarter. :-) DIY for this SUPER easy stand coming ASAP.

Day27option2 Sorry for the crappy iphone quality picture, but tell me that’s not a total cutie hamming it up in her “market”! She got to taste a Crush soda, her first soda ever, which made her grin from ear to ear. I’m going to make little tags that say “I have a CRUSH on you!” to attach to the sodas and give out with our cookies on V-day.

How cute is this “Embrace Messy Hair” sweatshirt from Grey Thread! Messy hair is right.

messyhair

We also did mani’s…

Day28 Rainbow nails made the freezing weather seem not so bad. Camryn always says “Paint my nails Mommy. I want green.” Always green…always. Rainbow was a nice change, but I’d paint those sweet little baby fingers any color, any day.

That’s pretty much our day in a nutshell. Like I said, we’re hibernating.

Friday Lust List: Handmade Kids Clothing & Accessories

Hello Loves!

So many of you ask me where I buy Camryn’s clothes, shoes, and accessories, and many times the answer is Target/Old Navy/H&M, etc…but some of my favorite items from her wardrobe are the ones I find from little shops on etsy, or discover through Instagram, or word of mouth. They’re handmade, many times using organic materials, and made with love. They are the pieces that last longer than any of the clothes from the “big box retailers”, they’re very high quality, and they’re the items that I plan to pass down to my future child(ren). I wanted to share a few of my recent favorite shops with all of you. Even if you don’t have a mini me, I’m sure you have friends and family with them, so check out these awesome shops – support small businesses – and shop my favorite items!

Day20

1.|| You saw Camryn rocking her Mason & The Tambourine dress a few days ago, as well as the grey teepee leggings. This shop is one of my newest loves, and I am definitely going to might want to buy one of everything. (My husband reads my blog, so I can’t give away too much… Hi honey! No shopping happening here.)

2.|| zuzii.com was recently introduced to me, and I can’t stop swooning over these black & white striped sandals. Why can’t these be in my size too? Oh, and I can’t forget this bow belt, it’s too cute for words. Must. Own.

3.|| Hello Apparel is always on my radar, but I’m especially eyeing those darling heart baseball tees for Valentines.

4.|| Loola popped up on my radar recently, and I fell in love with these floral harem pants (no longer available in size 2T…wahhhhh!). The prices can’t be beat ($15 for those adorable pants)! These pants would have looked so chic with those striped sandals from Zuzii.

I’m also loving these quilted tuxedo stripe pants from Loola. :-)

5.|| House of Mia has become dangerous for me to even look at these days. These heart leggings, the little black umbrella leggings, and the tiny models in them…I want it all. 100% organic, and 100% CUTE!

6.|| Monroe & Harlow is a company I started stalking on Instagram, and now check in on daily to see what cute new designs they’ve dreamed up. My current favorite is this beautiful black & white striped band with a mint bow. Lucky you, they also carry a women’s line – check out these gorgeous turbans – I would rock one of these all the time!!

7.|| I recently made a few purchases with Grey Thread, an etsy company with quirky sayings on shirts and sweatshirts that are sure to catch attention. My favorites are “Embrace Messy Hair”, “Wild & Free”, and the funny “Jesus Saves, Bro” shirt.

8.|| Vonbon is releasing their new leggings line in early February, and I sneaked a peek and am smitten! These will quickly sell out, so mark your calendars. If you want to read more about my love affair with Vonbon, check out my full post here.

9.|| Sugarplum Lane is another shop I’ve been frequenting, and I’m currently lusting over these beauties. I’m a sucker for all things gold, but it’s the thickness and quality of sugarplum’s leggings that I love most.

10.|| No list about toddler fashion could ever be complete without mentioning Freshly Picked Moccs. You all know I love them, and my kid practically lives in them, but did you know they’ve released a radiant orchid pair in honor of the Pantone Color of the Year?! Oh yes Mamas, feast your eyes on those beauties!!! If you’re a lover of Freshly Picked like I am, check out Shark Tank tonight, and see if Susan cuts a deal with any of the sharks!

Let’s be honest, it’s hard not to love everything in teeny tiny size! Let the shopping commence. (I can say that now because there’s no way my husband’s still reading…he got lost somewhere between shoes and headbands.) :-)

What I’m Loving {Wednesday}

After having been gone for a few days, I wanted to get caught up with some of the things I’ve been loving, and pinning lately. I try to bookmark things that I’ve enjoyed all throughout the week so that I can share them with you on Friday’s Lust List’s, but this week there’s too much to wait.

1.|| This yummy southwest chicken salad from MSK

2.|| Buying one of these “Hustlin” mouse pads for my husband, and another for myself.

3.|| I love these leggings for Camryn

4.|| What a beautiful living room!

5.|| I love this quote.

6.|| My yellow lab, Aly, needs one of these chic little doggy beds.

7.|| Get in my belly. I would trade in my husband for this delicious looking cake. ;-)

8.|| DIY gold lip wine glass.

9.|| I received a bunch of new coffee table books for Christmas and my birthday, and the Kate Spade book was one of them. It’s soooo good you guys. I’m absolutely smitten with it, and it looks so pretty sitting on my table.

10.|| My daughter was given Living Sand as a Christmas gift from my husbands grandparents, and it’s absolutely AMAZING!! Have I mentioned this to you guys already? I’ve been telling everyone I know about it. It’s super easy to clean up, doesn’t stick to anything or dry out like playdough, and has been hours of fun for us. It’s also non-toxic and anti-bacterial. We own the large set, but there’s also a less expensive smaller set. Parents of toddlers, go buy some. You’re welcome!

11.|| I was really sick again all day today, so I lounged around and relaxed in the bath…which looks eerily similar to this one. I’m hoping to be back to myself by tomorrow. I have a long list of my favorite blogs to get back to reading. I’ve discovered a few new bloggers that I’ve really been enjoying, so I’ll share those with you guys soon. Maybe I can get some of them to come by and say “hi”, and tell you a little about their blogs themselves.

I’ll sure be glad when Friday arrives…until then, Happy Hump Day!

XO – Samantha

I’m Back!

It feels like forever since I’ve sat in front of my computer {eating chocolate chip & oatmeal raisin cookies…} and blogged. Ahhhh it’s good to be home!

First off, my trip was great! I got to see a bunch of friends and their littles, and I rubbed a TON of baby bumps. ALL of my girlfriends (yes, I’m being a tad dramatic) are pregnant! 5 baby bumps in total…which is actually a good thing, because that’s 5 sweet little babies that I’ll be snuggling in just a few more months. My ovaries have officially exploded, and all I say to my husband anymore is “I NEED A BABY!!!”

My SIL’s baby shower was so fun, and they revealed they are having a boy! A BOY, people. I finally get to shop for, and dress up a little man. They had been hoping for a boy, so I’m super happy for them. Camryn is going to be so excited to have a cousin. She was already talking to my SIL’s belly and giving it kisses. She kept asking her to “take the baby out”, and we were having to tell her he wasn’t ready yet. :-)

We didn’t get home to Austin until after 1am, so Camryn and I slept in till 10, and then spent the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful 80 degree Austin weather. What a nice change from the grey and cold weather we had in Washington!

photo 5 Our dog Aly is pretty happy to have us home too. Camryn has been giving her kisses and hugs all day.

Thank you all for being patient while I was away. I had planned on blogging and posting vacay pics all week, but travelling solo with a toddler requires a lot of stuff, and my laptop wasn’t going to fit in my carry-on. I had to rely on my FIL’s computer and my husbands macbook, and it just didn’t work out like I had planned.

Speaking of travelling with a toddler, I remembered to snap a pic of the things I pack in my carry-on bag for all of you who have been asking for tips. I’ll put together a post soon. After 4 countries and countless plane rides, I’ve come up with a system that works really well for us.

Weekend Recap

Via

Let’s pretend it’s not Monday, and instead talk about the weekend, shall we? My weekend was fairly low-key, but we did venture out on Saturday to the SprATX grand opening. The space looks amazing, and is the perfect balance of industrial (think brick walls, and exposed ceiling pipes) and modern. It’s obviously a labor of love by all the many local artists, one of which is my BIL. Here’s some pics of the store, art, and my sister and BIL.

Fotor0105222114 Fotor0105222554

If you’re interested in knowing more about the story behind the artists, and how this awesome company/collaboration came to be, check out this video.

I bought a piece of art that I’m just a tad obsessed with. I’ll post photos as soon as it’s framed. I’m thinking it will be the perfect addition to my office space…if I ever get around to designing it. What’s that saying that rolls off my tongue far too often?! Oh, yeah, “add it to my to-do list!” (Worlds longest to-do list. Ahhh!) With that said, all of you Moms that also have full or even part-time jobs and still run your household like a boss, I applaud you, and I don’t know how you do it all.

Next door to the new SprATX shop were these train tracks, so I shot this picture of my sister helping Camryn walk the tracks for Day 4 of my Camryn Daily project.

Day4 (option2)

After hitting up the SprATX opening, we accidentally ended up at In-N-Out, which recently opened here in Austin. Losing weight and eating healthier weren’t on our New Years resolution list, although clearly they should have been.

firstinnout Camryn had her first In-N-Out cheeseburger and, my little bird who hardly eats anything in large quantities, chowed down and finished half of it. Less surprisingly, she helped polish off my chocolate shake.

milkshake

On Sunday I took Camryn to the farmers market, a Sunday tradition for our family, and she had her face painted as a puppy. We always buy breakfast tacos, pain au chocolates (chocolate croissants) and choquettes. Camryn had to bring her little doggy to show Miss Melissa, our friend who paints faces at the farmers market, for face-painting inspiration. It was really windy and cold out, so we hurried home and spent the rest of the day relaxing, cleaning the house, and I might have watched some Gossip Girls…which by the way, NONE of you admitted to having watched. My husband now believes he’s won this war, and is 100% convinced that the show is for teenagers. I thought we were friends!? Friends don’t let friends-husbands win battles over chick tv!! ;-)

What kind of fun did you all get into this weekend?

First Lust List of 2014

Lust List Image

The-Little-Market-Styled-Trunks-7602-434x652 1.|| This beautiful white and brown leather trunk from The Little Market has me swooning.

2.|| I’ve been eyeing this headboard for Camryn’s room.

3.|| We need new light fixtures desperately, and I’ve been loving a few from Restoration Hardware, including this dramatic little gem. I’m loving these for over my bar.

4.|| I mentioned yesterday that my husband and I want to travel overseas again this year, and we’ve been talking about seeing Greece. After looking at pictures, I’m sold! Has anyone been? Do you recommend it? My husband visited years ago, and wants to return.

5.|| I recently started watching the Gossip Girls series on Netflix after one of you suggested it to me, and I’m hooked! My husband will not stop making fun of me, and says it’s a show for young teens, but I highly disagree, there’s some stuff going on in the show that is not at all for young teens. Please leave a comment if you watched this show, and prove my husband wrong!!!

6.|| I saw this picture on Pinterest a few weeks ago, and I can’t stop thinking about changing my hair. Ombre? I have the length and I like the idea of focusing the damage to the ends of my hair so I can chop it off if I get tired of it being bleached. Thoughts?

7.|| If you live in the Austin area, be sure to check out the grand opening party at the new SprATX location on Saturday the 4th!

8.|| I found thinly sliced agate at Homegoods last week and I plan to frame them for my husband office. I’m envisioning 2 stacked frames (similar to photo above) with antlers above. Moth Designs has a great DIY tutorial for framing agate if you want some for your home.

9.|| This kills me.

10.|| How cute is this dress from Mason and the Tambourine? I couldn’t buy it for Camryn fast enough. I wish Candy Kirby Designs would start making dresses, because I’m smitten with her fabrics.

Did you check out yesterdays “Camryn Daily” pic? Our park doesn’t have potties, so I’m always that ghetto mom toting around a kid potty in my car. My house is only 4 houses away from the park, but this mommy is not going to pick up my kid and start running home when she says “I need to potty Mommy!”. Yeah, I lead a really glamorous life. If you haven’t checked out the pics you can see them all here.

Happy Friday!!

Resolutions

I try really hard not to bully myself into being a “better” version of myself each New Year. I try to never set myself up for failure, because I’m my worst critic, and I get down on myself when I fail…I’m sure I’m not the only one. I do though believe in setting healthy and attainable goals. I perform well under pressure, and setting a goal that gives me a little push can help me grow, and is sometimes a really good thing. I’ve been thinking about things I’d like to try this year, places I’d like to go, and things I want to try to do to improve my health and well being, and here’s what I’ve come up with.

1.|| Drink more water!!! Ok, this is not a goal, this is a necessity. I am terrible about drinking water. I avoid it like the plague and will trade in a glass of H2O for coffee, juice, or a diet soda any day. My husband is constantly harping on the fact that I’m probably chronically dehydrated, and gets highly annoyed when after eating my meal I pound down his glass of water because I’m so thirsty. Apparently by the time you actually feel thirsty, your body has already started becoming dehydrated. This is a habit I need to break, especially so that I can be a good role model to my daughter. Priority #1 this year. (I failed at beginning this yesterday, so I’ll start today. Oops!)

Fotor0101213118

Before & After

2.|| De-Clutter my home. In the course of a year I have managed to accumulate a lot of stuff, and all of this stuff is cluttering my home and making me feel anxious. I crave clean, organized, and clutter-free space. Most people would look at my home and think “Looks good to me!”, but it all feels so chaotic and messy to me. I’ve already started on this task by cleaning and organizing the closet under our staircase. It’s a massive L-shaped closet that became a war zone after pulling out Christmas decor. I bought a wall organizer and containers from Lowes, donated boxes full of things that we hadn’t used in the last year, and magically found the back of my closet! I will continue tackling the clutter room-by-room, and I’ll post progress pics for all of you that would like to make the same goal. Power in numbers, right? Let’s do this! PS…Please keep encouraging me, and remind me that de-cluttering may feel a lot like cleaning…which we all know sucks…but it MUST be done! ;-)

crashing

3.|| A photo a day of my sweet Camryn. I printed a book last year of all my instagram photos of Camryn, and it is by far my most loved possession. I skim through the pages and reminisce, usually cry, and tell my husband “I need another babyyyyy!!!” I can see how much she changed over such a short period of time, and I get to relive all those moments with her, and it’s just a really beautiful keepsake. I have wanted to do this for a really long time, but never took the leap and started, but now feels like the right time. I took the first picture of her yesterday while she was riding her new tricycle, dressed as a kitty (her current obsession). I created a page called Camryn Daily located at the top of the blog, next to Contact Me and Home Tour. I will keep that page updated with ALL of the photos, and in addition I will post some on FB, IG, and here in random posts.

045c089a8f0e9931bb1ae5bb7fe2abe4

4.|| Travel. Our little family took a 2 week vacation in September 2013 to France and had the most incredible trip, and it’s something we want to continue doing each year. Our daughter is no stranger to traveling, and has been to 4 countries, and been on nearly 50 flights. Visiting other countries, immersing yourself in their culture, seeing all the art and history, and experiencing the beauty of those places is a reminder of how little space we occupy on this earth and how little we know about one another. I want my daughter to meet people who live differently than we do, and learn to value our differences, and respect their ways of life. I want her to see this amazing world. We only get to live on this earth once, and it would be a shame not to see as much of it as we can.

IMG_9682

One of my favorite memories with my husband and daughter. Summer 2013

5.|| Prioritize. I like to tell myself that I can do it all, but honestly, I can’t. I want to make an effort to put down my phone, close my laptop, and walk away from my office in the evenings and spend good quality time with my husband and daughter. I spend all day, everyday, with my tiny lady but I want to be more present and in the moment with her. I am guilty of being on my phone instead of playing, or getting involved in my blog each night instead of curling up with my husband…although, I’m not sure he’s been missing me lately. Football is his mistress…I should say his other mistress, because work takes the cake. Work hard, play hard. Prioritize, and then reap our reward…hopefully we’ll be reaping our rewards somewhere overseas this year. HA!

Those are my goals. What are your goals or resolutions for the new year?

XO – Samantha
